Soccer Expert Sutton Battles Artist Murs in Premier League Forecasts
The Gunners' ten-match victorious streak was ended by Sunderland before the international hiatus, but can the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?
"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated football expert Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, against artificial intelligence, readers and a range of special visitors.
In week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.
The singer's latest album, Knees Up, is out on the weekend.
Soccer and Family Life
Olly is a talented footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a star of several charity football matches over time - but he is not planning a professional return as a footballer.
"{I actually played in a benefit match the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!
"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.
"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or son decides to play instead."
The singer and his spouse his partner have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.
"I won't force football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday soccer team," he added.
"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a while too.
"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our side for several seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Premier League Forecasts
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.
In my opinion this fixture will be fairly close, though. The Clarets are well organised and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.
This smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.
Sutton's forecast: 1-2
Olly's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3
AI's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have lost their past two games - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.
On the other hand, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear competitive again.
The Hammers' only on the road victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest coach.
Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - will it be West Ham continuing their streak under Nuno, or the home side responding?
I will go with Bournemouth, because I think what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.
Sutton's prediction: 2-0
Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2
AI's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were considered one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season started, but they have impressed a few observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their last four matches.
A family member told me to select Bees forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.
Thiago will probably score again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.
The Bees have not had great fortune on the travel this term, and Brighton are consistently decent at home. Brentford will try to attack on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a threat.
Sutton's forecast: 2-1
Olly's view: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually turns out to be quite tight. 1-1
The computer's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six games.
They have got lots of talent in their squad but it still feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.
As for Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.
Their performance in the two-all draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not witnessed anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.
The sensible thing to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of October.
However I am not choose that. Rather, I truly need to carry on going against the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.
Looking at Fulham's home record, the only side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.
Sutton's prediction: 1-0
Olly's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a bad streak... but Fulham have still been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0
AI's prediction: 2-0

It is a tough fixture to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but might they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
