NFL 2025 season: Week six

Real-time updates includes live text of Sunday's games on various channels, starting with Denver Broncos v New York Jets at Tottenham (from 14:00 BST). Additionally, radio commentary can be heard on select stations covering a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).

We're in the sixth week of the football calendar and after recent discussion about two top teams as a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both lost their unbeaten records.

Notable in those games was the amount of infractions both committed. Philadelphia committed them at crucial times so they essentially beat themselves having led by two touchdowns going into the fourth period versus Denver, who play overseas this weekend.

But it proved positive to observe how Denver's QB Bo Nix managed to have that deficit before direct three successful possessions on three possessions during the final period, securing the game by four points.

The Broncos have the defensive player of the year in CB Pat Surtain II. They are number one in goal-line defense, while the Eagles lead the league in scoring near the end zone, yet the Broncos won that contest.

They executed the Eagles' number regarding simulated pressure. They did not necessarily sending extra pass rushers instead they might position two LBs in the interior before withdrawing them and dispatch a nickel off the edge.

At the start of the season, it was noted on a program that Denver might emerge as this season's dark horses. They finished the previous year well and excelled in continuing that momentum.

Are the Denver Broncos this year's dark horses?

Recently acquired TE their tight end has stepped up significantly and new RB JK Dobbins is a player they believe in. He's currently fifth league-wide in ground gains (402) as well as tied-fourth in rushing scores (4).

I love that head coach Sean Payton has "RUSH!" at the top of his playcall sheet.

That shows how Denver are a squad aiming to prioritize the run, because you can achieve much off the back of that. It slows opposing rushes while keeps you in favourable down and distances.

This has helped QB the young passer, who came into the league as a first-round selection in the prior draft, throwing 29 TDs – just behind a star QB for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert possess powerful arms to pass all over, but they don't move the mobility as Nix. He boasts exceptional passing ability, a unique trait, plus he is highly agile.

His strengths include his mobility, the capacity to throw on the run, as well as finding different arm angles to deliver throws when he rolls out of the pocket, on rollouts. He can deliver that layered pass across the middle and past defenders.

For a young quarterback, aged 25, he displays a lot of composure under pressure and isn't really fazed by extra rushers. He aims to evade a sack whenever possible and can throw under pressure. He has sharp intelligence and is quick to decide.

If you constantly run the ball it eats up time and forces the opponent to be on the field for longer, and if you've got an athletic quarterback the defence must defend the field vertically side to side. It can be exhausting.

Nix has bitten back at Payton on the sideline sometimes and it seems the coach appreciates that fire, that he's a fierce rival. I think it's fun for him to coach a rookie QB that is similar to moldable clay. He can really build something up how he desires to shape him. I think it's a unique opportunity for him.

The head coach has won a Super Bowl and has passed a legend in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He's seen everything. I think the success Denver are having on offence is mostly down to his leadership, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the pairing with Nix aids make him what he is.

There's no better a better guy in your ear, to assist you during difficult moments and boost self-belief.

I believe in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But are they good enough to face an elite team at its best? Because that was not championship-level play from Philadelphia in their last game.

Right now, I don't think the Broncos are elite. They're working above average, that's a solid position to hold their division. All they need is to continue this trajectory.

They're really good at leaning into their strength, which is the ground game, and that's exactly what they should do versus the Jets in London. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, essentially.

The Jets have surrendered 140 yards on the ground per game (sixth worst), five ground scores so far (in the bottom ten), and they are the sole squad yet to win any game.

Ever since the league started recording turnovers in 1933, this team are the first team to go without any turnovers in five outings, this is surprising when you think that the head coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.

Patrick Mahomes stated the Chiefs have 'already lost too many games' after a recent loss by the Jaguars.

Following the upcoming matchup, Denver have a manageable slate up to their bye (in week twelve) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans and Las Vegas Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.

In their division, the Chiefs hold a losing record while Denver are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could challenge for the top of the division.

It depends upon what version Kansas City shows up they face since the Broncos {beat|def
